South Jordan is located in the south-central area of Salt Lake County and about 18 miles south of Salt Lake City. It, like the other parts of the southern part of Salt Lake County, have seen explosive growth over the last few decades. In 2004, Kennecott Land began a development named Daybreak with more than 4,000 acres of land for mixed-use: commercial and residential development. In 2012, South Jordan was named the second fastest-growing city in the United States.
South Jordan is home to more than 60,000 people and the largest employers are Merit Medical, Jordan School District, Ultradent, Walmart and Rio Tinto. Almost 3.5 miles of the Jordan River, which transports water from the Salt Lake to Utah Lake, run through South Jordan. Along the Jordan River there are bike and jogging trails and parks.
The homeownership rate is over 79%. According to Zillow, the median rent price in South Jordan is $1750 which is higher than Salt Lake City, which averages $1595. There is a good mix of single-family homes, townhomes and condos in the area, and demand for this area will increase.
